Abstract

This study investigates the influences of various geometric parameters on the performance of a drag-type VAWT. A small model has been built and tested in the wind tunnel. The experimental VAWT has also been outfitted with a custom made generator. The comparative analysis involves both revolutions-per-minute (RPM) and power measurements. Finally, high-speed photography is used o draw conclusions on the aerodynamic behavior of the system.
