abstract = "A new wavelet based Gaussian waveform is proposed. The proposed waveform takes advantage of both the Gaussian waveform and the wavelet-based waveform for improving the performance in range detection. The new waveform can completely remove the near-sidelobes and push the far-sidelobes out of the detecting boundary. As a result, it is particularly suitable for use by the spotlight synthetic aperture radar (SAR).",
