Abstract
Wave attenuation in empty and water filled steel and concrete pipes is investigated. Several boundary conditions are considered in order to study the characteristics of phase velocity and attenuation dispersion curves. By examining wave attenuation dispersion curves, the axial spacing of monitoring sensors can be determined. This information is important for health monitoring of pipes.
