Variation of the switching power with diffusion length in a nonlinear directional coupler

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

We investigate the variation of the switching power with diffusion length in a nonlinear directional coupler displaying a diffusive Kerr-type nonlinearity. The predictions of coupled mode theory are compared to results obtained from the beam propagation method and differences between the two are discussed.
