Unintentional injuries in children

Learning Objectives: After reading this chapter and answering the discussion questions that follow, you should be able to Identify key approaches for quantifying and measuring the burden of childhood injury. Discuss the contribution of injuries to global childhood mortality. Discuss the importance of analyzing childhood injury from a developmental perspective (i.e., according to developmental stages of children). Identify and appraise developmental, environmental, socioeconomic, and behavioral correlates of childhood injuries.
