Tunable terahertz wave plates fabricated with a 3D printer

Abstract

We fabricate wave plates for terahertz waves using a 3D printer. The wave plates base on the physical mechanism of form birefringence. Applying mechanical pressure to the plates allows for continuously tuning of the optical retardance.
