To Save Organized Human Society

Abstract

Editors: In 2020, Noam Chomsky opened Turnout! Mobilizing Voters in an Emergency with a terse declaration about the role of activism. Not known for exaggerating, Chomsky declared that year to be a “fateful one” on which the future of humanity turns. We reprint that essay here, recognizing that each of Chomsky’s points is all the more important and derives its urgency not only from the current electoral options but also from the critical social movement work that came before.
