Thickness-dependence of third harmonic generation in transparent polymer films containing octupolar molecules

Abstract

In ethyl-violet polymer thick films formed by over-coating, the third-harmonic output increased monotonically with thickness L, instead of sin2(aL)-behavior. The enhancement was attributed to the longer coherence lengths for thicker films.
