Abstract
Agricultural and biological engineers of America have helped achieve a more perfect union, paving a long way in achieving their ideals of democratic freedom and equal protection to all of its citizens. Their aim was to implement the large-scale industrialization of American agriculture to support farm productivity while significantly reducing labor. They also knew that to achieve the mission of fully ushering the Industrial Revolution into American agriculture, they needed to foster and solidify agricultural engineering both as an engineering discipline and as a profession. The ASABE aimed to design engineering solutions to achieve global sustainability in food production, soil and water resources, energy, and bio-based materials. Its realization of its vision of large-scale industrialization of American agriculture thereby paved the way for the liberation of large number of Americans from the revolutionary bondage of farm labor to the pursuit of their personal callings.
