Abstract

We present submillimeter-wave single dish and millimeter-wave interferometric observations of the central core region of the far-infrared source IRAS 16293 - 2422. High-resolution millimeter continuum and CS images of IRAS 16293 reveal it to be a young binary system surrounded by a slowly rotating circumbinary shell of material. We use single dish CS observations in conjunction with the interferometric CS observations to probe the dynamics and physical properties of the gas associated with the system.
