Abstract

The influence of diffusion on stationary nonlinear surface-guided TM waves is investigated numerically. Linear media with both positive and negative dielectric functions interfaced to a typical nonlinear medium, and a layered system with a nonlinear substrate, are considered. A detailed description of the finite element method used for solving this problem is presented.
