Abstract
The reflectivity variations of the phase-change media of optical recording were observed. The reflectivity changed slightly upon the application of a weak laser pulse, returning to its initial value at the end of the pulse. This behavior was shown to be due to the temperature-dependence of the optical constants of the phase-change layer.
