Superadditive optical communications with joint detection receivers and concatenated coding

Abstract

We present an optical communication receiver system concept able to achieve superadditive capacities. We present the first concatenated coding strategies compatible with our recently proposed joint-detection receivers, which increase capacity through jointly measuring blocks of modulation symbols.
