Abstract

We examine some of the systematics of different types of subdwarf B stars - short-period sdB+WD binaries, short period sdB+MS binaries, composite spectrum systems and apparently single stars - using recent results from our ongoing spectroscopic surveys and from asteroseismology, 2MASS photometry and open cluster color-magnitude diagrams. There are a wide variety of puzzles still remaining to be solved before we understand all the details of subdwarf B star formation and evolution.
