Abstract
The transport behavior of polyene molecules sandwiched between two metallic contacts was discussed using the nonequilibrium Green's function formalism. The current and noise power as a function of applied voltage were calculated and they were found to decrease with increasing size of the polyene molecules. The analysis showed a crossover from Poissonian to sub-Possonian behavior in the shot noise as a function of applied voltage.
