Abstract

Some preliminary experimental results on the investigation for the relative significance of photo-induced and thermal effects in phase change (PC) rewritable optical recording are reported. The effects of photoexcitations on the crystallization of the amorphous Ge2Sb2.3Te5 film does not manifest itself in the static experiments. The dynamic experiment, it is not clear if the photoexcitations have a significant effect on crystallization.
