Abstract

The stability of a 2-D discrete system formulated in the form of Fornasini Marchesini (FM) state-space model is studied. New stability conditions are established based on which a stability testing algorithm is developed. This algorithm is based on finding the maximum eigenvalue of a variable matrix. Such an approach has been used before. However, the new stability results reported here result in a significant reduction in computational complexity of the algorithm.
