Abstract
The presence of stable precessional states is the hallmark of spin-current driven magnetization dynamics. By using the Fokker-Planck equation along with a perturbation theory, we analytically formulate the lifetime of these precessional states at finite temperatures. It is found that the thermal transition between a static state and the precessional state can be described in terms of spin-torque dependence of the energy density function.
