Abstract

Spatial-domain-based energy-efficient N-dimensional coded-modulation is studied as a high-speed enabling technology for indoor optical wireless communication, terrestrial free-space optical communication and data center applications. The energy-efficient signal constellation is designed by maximizing the mutual information, while imposing the energy constraint.
