Abstract

A guide to the hydrologic properties of streams in the Amazon and Paraguay Basins is presented. Photographs are presented from the Apollo Soyuz Test Project of the Amazon Basin. Stream regimes, including analyses of meander wavelengths, flood plain development, and basin morphology are discussed. Adjustments of changes in river morphology caused by altered water and sediment discharges and by Quaternary climatic changes are discussed. -from STAR, 18(1), 1980
