Abstract
A mathematical model is given for the concentration profile as a function of time, including a T-dependent partitioning of the solute between the two phases. It is illustrated by the partitioning of zirconia between ilmenite and ulvospinel. The cooling rates of a suite of Apollo 15 Elbow Crater gabbros are calculated and the implications are discussed. -K.A.R.
