Abstract

A six-wavelength laser array is demonstrated with an integrated amplifier and modulator designed for transmission of a single selectable wavelength. The single-step printed gratings provide lambda/4-shifted distributed feedback lasers with average channel spacing of about 200 GHz. Laser thresholds are about 20mA, and output powers of several mW are available from all six lasers through the modulator at an amplifier drive of 75mA.
