Abstract

The K_L→ π⁰π⁰e⁺e^- decay in the KTeV experiment was analyzed. The KTeV spectrometer components used for the analysis consisted of four stations of drift chambers. In 2.7 × 10¹¹ K_L decays, one event was observed with an expected background of 0.3 event, resulting in an upper limit for the K_L→ π⁰π⁰e⁺e^- branching ratio of 6.6 × 10^-9 at the 90%CL.
