Abstract

The SEAFLUX strategy to assess satellite flux products, and to improve the accuracy and resolution of satellite-derived sensible and latent heat fluxes, is described. Analysis shows that at present, zonal and monthly averaged flux values have significant uncertainties, based on the comparison of climatologies determined from ships, numerical weather prediction analyses, and satellite products.
