Abstract
We present results from spectroscopic observations of K giants in two fields towards the Galactic bulge. The mean Galactocentric velocity and velocity dispersion for a field at l, b = (8, 7) are 〈V〉 = 45 ± 10 km s-1 and σ = 85 ± 7 km s-1. For a field at l, b = (12, 3) we find 〈V〉 = 77 ± 9 km s-1 and σ = 68 ± 6 km s-1. The bulge of the Galaxy is found to be rotating, and its velocity dispersion decreases with increasing Galactocentric distance.
