Internal symmetry influences the form of quantum spectra as well as the abundance of particles emitted by a thermal source. Isospin conservation in proton-antiproton annihilation is used to quantitatively illustrate the influence of these phenomena on mean pion multiplicities and the apparent primary pion temperature parameter.
