Abstract
This article (1) has been retracted at the request of the editors. A reader informed the editors that Fig. 1 is similar to a figure in a previously published article (2). In addition, several p27, p21, and actin Western blot bands appear to have been manipulated and duplicated in Figs. 4 and 5. The first author acknowledges these manipulations and duplications but is unable to provide the original data. A copy of this Retraction Notice was sent to the last known e-mail addresses for 2 of the 4 authors. One author (S. Ammanamanchi) agreed to the retraction; one author (T.C. Ko) did not respond; and one author (M.P.M. Tillekeratne) could not be located. The corresponding author, M.G. Brattain, is deceased.
