Abstract

In this study, we compared specific symptom prevalence (i.e., stuffy or runny nose, sore throat, attacks of shortness of breath with wheeze or asthma (SOBWZ), and lung function variability) with pollen totals and specific pollen concentrations of seasonally important taxa. We assessed local (indoor and outdoor) and regional atmospheric pollen levels to determine pollen exposure. We demonstrated a relationship between symptoms and pollen taxa for subjects with specific health characteristics.
