Abstract

A continuous wave anti-Stokes Raman laser (ASRL) in ionic system provides for a highly efficient up-conversion with a large frequency shift. The realization of ASRL in ArII system with long-lived final level 4s′2 D5/2 was demonstrated. The pump radiation wavelength of 611 nm was converted into the output radiation of 461 nm with efficiency of more than 30% in a standing wave cavity formed for output radiation.
