Abstract
In this paper, we propose a novel FEC scheme based on regular/ irregular low-density parity-check codes that significantly outperform all previously reported FEC schemes (RS and turbo codes). High code-rate, large minimum distances and simple decoding algorithms of the proposed codes allow very high-speed implementations.
