Abstract

This communication describes the synthesis and in vitro evaluation of a novel potent series of phosphodiesterase type (IV) (PDE IV) inhibitors. Several of the quaternary substituted lactams presented possess low nanomolar IC₅₀'s for PDE IV inhibition.
