Quantum beam collapse in a self-focusing medium

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

A qualitative theory of quantum beam collapse is given for an input coherent state whose mean power equals the critical power for self-focusing. The probability for beam collapse is shown to be 0.5, and the probability density for the axial position of the self-focusing singularity is derived.
