Abstract

We study numerically the propagation of an optical beam propagating at an oblique angle of incidence to the guide axis in nonlinear thin-film dielectric waveguides. Our results show that the behaviour of the incident beam can be characterised in terms of an equivalent particle moving in an equivalent potential.
