N2 - Electrically small Huygens dipole antennas and their unidirectional radiation properties and their applications will be reviewed. Examples of the progress in realizing multifunctional and reconfigurable Huygens source designs will be described. Applications such as wireless power transfer (WPT) and wirelessly powered sensors will be discussed. The development of linear arrays of Huygens dipole elements to achieve high directivity, steerable beams for 5G and beyond applications will be emphasized. Measurements of their prototypes confirm their simulated performance characteristics.
