Abstract
A prescribed fire was set to consume 3/4 of the forest floor depth in a Pinus ponderosa forest. The objective of the fire was accomplished. Other effects of the fire included thinning of the forest overstory from below, increased ponderosa pine seedling establishment, increased production of herbaceous plants, and a temporary reduction of fire hazard. -from Authors
