Precise stabilization of a femtosecond laser comb to a high finesse, passive optical cavity

Abstract

We report on direct stabilization of a femtosecond comb to a stable optical cavity with an analysis of various stabilization schemes. An absolute fractional frequency instability of <7 × 10-14 at 1 second is measured.
