Abstract

The picosecond noise and dynamics of pulsed vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) was studied by using DC balanced homodyne detection technique. When the pulse was linearly polarized, equal intensities were measured in both linearly polarized modes. The results showed that the linearly polarized modes in VCSEL were anti-correlated.
