title = "Phytochemical and pharmacological investigation of Anemopsis californica",
abstract = "Anemopsis californica was the subject of a phytochemical and pharmacological investigation to determine the plant principle responsible for its reported antispasmodic activity. The extraction procedure yielded among various fractions, leucoanthocyanidins, an unidentified crystalline fraction, and 4‐allylveratrole, which was the most active antispasmodic agent. The possibility of antitumor activity attributed to this plant could not be verified by the screens employed.",
