Abstract

Phototherapy is an exciting new approach to managing some medical conditions. Phototherapy include the use of lights with different parameters (wavelength, intensity) administered either through the skin or through the retina and the visual system, involving the image-forming and non-image forming system. The relatively low risk associated with phototherapy has made it attractive and is facilitating its widespread acceptance and usage. This chapter explores the potential benefits of phototherapy in managing migraine and some of the associated medical conditions. The chapter also explores the neuronal circuitry involved in the effects of phototherapy.
