Abstract

Slack-water sedimentation analysis has been successfully applied to the paleohydrologic interpretation of the late Pleistocene Missoula floods (13 000 14C yr BP in the northwestern US). It is especially useful in Holocene studies, as demonstrated by work in semi-arid regions (Texas, Utah, northern Australia) and humid temperate regions (Connecticut, Virginia, Pennsylvania). -from Author
