Abstract

A theory on the construction of a diffraction-limited transmission sphere for interferometry in a geometrical ray-tracing program, followed by an analysis of its performance in physical-optics program is presented. The performance of the design reveals a high theoretical performance in terms of MTF and spot size. The transmission sphere designs were modeled in ZEMAX with DIFFRACT.
