Abstract

Optical interconnections can be employed in multidimensional schemes that incorporate ultra-dense arrangements of optical subcarriers in the spectral domain and a multitude of independent modes in the spatial domain, all within the same optical fiber. In this paper we further explore the concept of dynamic optical spatial-spectral interconnections enabling elastic bandwidth arrangement.
