abstract = "We present the initial two phases of a transient benchmarking investigation of the RATTLESNAKE (R/S) multidimensional neutron transport code- a member of the INL MOOSE computational herd. Specifically, R/S's simulations of power transients in an infinite medium for step, ramp, contiguous and non-linear changes in cross section are compared to both analytical and high fidelity numerical point kinetics benchmarks including the full complement of delayed neutrons.",
