Abstract
U and Th ores have been found to contain significant levels of 14C. The levels of this isotope can be as high as 14C α=1.7 · 10-9, and can be explained in terms of nuclear reactions and some contribution from heavy-ion emission or asymmetric fission. The levels of 14C are compared to other nucleogenic isotopes that have been found in these ores, such as 10Be, 26Al and excesses of rare-gas isotopes.
