Abstract

This paper presents the design of two and four element antenna arrays operating at 60 GHz for wireless interconnects between chips in a multi-chip computing system. The antenna in package uses a periodically-patched artificial magnetic conductor (AMC) to enhance the antenna performance. The AMC creates a high efficiency antenna that can be integrated directly onto CMOS chips.
