Odd-parity excitons in semiconductor superlattices

Abstract

Optical spectra of semiconductor superlattices with alternating well widths are computed microscopically. Odd-parity Frenkel-type excitons are predicted that are related to dipole forbidden single-particle transitions between parallel bands.
