Abstract
Nutritional management of gastrointestinal disorders depends on the availability of nutrients through oral intake in a form that can be digested and absorbed by an intact intestinal tract. This article discusses the functional anatomy of the gastrointestinal tract, the gastrointestinal disorders causing malnutrition, and the nutritional assessment and management of these disorders.
