Abstract
A novel self-referenced Hartmann wavefront sensor using pentaprism scanning method is proposed based on radial slope wavefront measuring principle. Its outstanding advantages and characteristics lie in un-necessity of any outside beacons or standard big flat mirror as operating reference. The theoretical analysis and experimental results show that the wave-front sensing sensitivity of the sensor is equivalent to that of an interferometer but it has not any strict demands for environmental conditions and light source. The sensor can be applied to the assembly and calibration of space-based active optical system, ground-based astronomical telescope and large-aperture collimators.
