Abstract
The nonlinear phenomena in media whose linear refractive index changes its magnitude and sign with a change in the wave carrier frequency or spatial coordinate, are considered. The results of theoretical investigations of the generation of harmonics in a homogeneous medium, optical bistability, and propagation of stationary solitary waves in a two-channel waveguide are discussed.
