Abstract

Using nanosecond and femtosecond pump-and-probe experiments, we identify the dipole-allowed optical transitions and investigate the temporal development of the nonlinear absorption and gain spectra, their dependence on the size, and the relaxation processes of the excited electron-hole-pair states in CdSe and CdSSe quantum dots.
